Pregnancy no.3

I found out I was pregnant this time round at three weeks. Three weeks. Why? Because I literally couldn't lift my head off the pillow and hubby thought I should take a test.... bullseye! Who knew you could feel so exhausted so early on in your pregnancy?!

This pregnancy has been doubly (and no not having multiples) as exhausting as my previous two. I'm guessing it must be even more tiring being pregnant with three active toddlers!

Finding out about a pregnancy early on has it's positives and negatives. I was thankful that I could watch out and not eat certain foods (yes, I am one of those Mums) but not being able to tell people for nine weeks... hard (I'm a blabber-mouth)!

In the end I did tell a few people early on... hmmm let's count...

5 weeks... I was bawling at the CFN's office when I took Miss 1 to get her immunisations and it just kind of slipped out. Kind of glad I did because she was super sympathetic... "Aww lovely, did you know that the baby inside of you (love it when they call it a baby and not a foetus!) is growing at an enormous rate... you are doing an amazing job."

6 weeks... Told my brother via skype (doing the after uni Europe thing this year), messaged my sister who wasn't surprised, told my parents when they popped up for their mid-term visit... no surprise there either... lots of excitement though!

7 weeks... Re-joined my old bible study and told them. Mostly because on top of being super exhausted and nauseous I was also battling bronchitis and needed the prayer!

8 weeks... A handful of friends were told (one actually asked me point blank).

10 weeks... On our trip to Sydney we told the great-grandparents who were very excited + surprised too! The next day I got a few little gifts... There is nothing nicer than people valuing your baby that is growing inside of you by buying them little gifts and being excited for you!

Oh and can I just say how proud of myself I was to do my first (and probably last day in a long time) day of work at this point in my pregnancy. But I did manage to go through the entire day without telling any of my old work mates my 'news'.

11 weeks... Hubby told his boss. Mostly because I had been sick and he thought he may have to leave work early if I wasn't managing and secondly because he has an amazing boss who totally understands about how family comes first (a rarity)!

12 weeks... I scheduled my ultrasound on the day I turned 12 weeks because hello, there was no way I was going to wait one more day if I didn't have to!!! We got home from the ultrasound and hubby rang his parents and messaged his sister... then it got announced on Facebook.

So in the end I suppose a lot of people knew before the 12 week mark. And I'm sure there were even more who figured it all out. I have my massive-flopped-out tummy to thank for that. Ah, the joys.

I'm so excited!
